Interesting, this essentially removes the AT&T contract barrier to the iphone via a prepaid workaround.
Now it only needs to get sim unlocked.

I can see it gaining a market over time, however it's got to at least be able to handle youtube first.

funny thing about that article is that every device listed is at least $1000 more expensive than the foleo.

I don't get it. The device just does not strike me as something appealing to any particular market segment. Is this Palm's last gasp?

Your article is incorrect. WM6 has NOT been released for the MDA.

This is a great move for Nokia. They seem to be getting more friendly all the time.

It would surprise me (coming from Google) but this might be a completely underwhelming launch ... especially compared to the iPhone.

"Apple's soon-to-be-launched iPhone will be irrelevant to business users..."
Even if that's true, in this article you can replace, in general, the word iPhone with the word iPod and that would be just as accurate. In other words, Office's target market is not the consumer as is the case for the iPhone and iPod.

Unfortunately, I do not plan to switch to Cingular for an iPhone; however, I look forward to the device's launch on other carriers. I think the marketplace already sees other phone manufacturers rethinking their interface, so the iPhone is already a consumer success (in a figurative sense) even if the device fails in the marketplace (financially).

Who in the world cares what a telco wants? I want my device to function properly, not be locked into a set operating system to make it easier for them.

I have been telling people I know not to purchase the 700P because of hardware problems. Good thing, eh?

Looks like spell-check generated a typo on your behalf: "breathing down its next" should be "breathing down its neck".

1. 379 people is a little too small a sample...
2. The people I know all seem to want one when it comes out here, no matter what.
3. This is the same thing surveys said about the first iPod. Now look at it. It may not be the first gen, or the second, but sometime, people will start buying it.
4. "only 1 percent said they'd pay US$500 for it. When Apple introduced the iPhone in January, it said it would cost $500 on the low end."
Jobs is aiming for only 1% of the market anyway as he said - that's still millions of phones.
