My guess is its an offshoot of UMPC's that keep you connected where ever you are. It will have VOIP, WiMAX, WiFi, Bluetooth, IR, and all bands for phone service. It's going to have to have a whale of a battery.

Will some explain to me why text messaging technology has demanded an increase is sending/receiving? It seems to me this technology is established and a lot of younger people use it regularly. It seems strange to me Verizon would allow an opening to let people out of their contracts. Verizon could be tired of the negative publicity of disgruntled users. This change will allow the squeaky wheels to leave.

What goes around, come around..or..everything old is new again...or...etc I have heard the merger is so AT&T can compete in the world wide market, but I do not see how it is going to help the little guys like me.

I think they are hoping one downloads a bunch of music from iTunes and such.

It would have been revolutionary if it included a slide out keyboard with real keys. The onscreen keys and no 3rd party apps are going to be a real bummer for many.

I do not see this as too revolutionary. It is getting a lot of media play because it is an Apple. Let's see how the users react when it is in the wild.

yeah squire, it doesn't seem so great being that you'd need a lot of sun tanning time to top up, however it would be novel for adding a bit of charge here and there.

It's a good idea, but it wouldn't be at all practical for me. I keep my phone in my pocket and it wouldn't ever see the light of day.

Ha. I did a 5 minute discussion about the Origami in front of class and I proved it would fail to take the mainstream market. Who really needs one of these? Especially how MS was marketing it, to use it in the home. Seriously, I can walk to the next room and use a PC or grab a laptop.
