Windows Mobile devices have made considerable strides in the past few years. We've seen two major releases, not to mention a slew of compatible devices, including the T-Mobile Dash, the Motorola Q, the Cingular 3125, and (of all things) a couple of Palm Treos. WM5 also exceeds its competitors in some increasingly important categories, like flexible music and video playback.

Ed Hardy of Brighthand gives us a perspective on where Palm might be going with the latest license deal they have made with Access. An interesting option I hadn't considered is whether Palm might use the unfettered access to the Palm OS source code to make a Palm OS emulator for Windows Mobile 5, instantly giving the Treo an edge over competing WM5 devices. read more »
